Pollinator week is June 21 – 27. The Horticulture Centre of the Pacific is hosting a ‘Pollinators for the Planet’ event and plant sale on Saturday, June 25 from 9 – 2pm. HCP’s Head Gardener says, “Everyone can do their part by providing the essential habitat requirements for pollinators-food, water and shelter. Plant a wide variety of plants with diverse flowers of various shapes, scents and size. Some provide pollen and nectar while others provide forage for larvae and building materials.”
In addition to the pollinator plant sale, there will be family activities and a presentation by Lori Weidenhammer, the author of Victory Gardens for Bees. Her presentation is free but you must register ahead of time.
