QCHCA general meeting and presentation on Scams and Fraud

The next QCHCA general meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 13th from 7 to 9 pm in the Art Room at Cedar Hill Rec. Centre. Our President Susan Haddon will provide a brief update on QCHCA committees and activities in our local community.  Our guest speaker is Constable Berle Zwaan who will give a talk on Fraud and Cyber Crime Safety. Constable Zwaan is a member of the Saanich Police Department’s Community Engagement Division.  She has worked for 29 years in all areas of police work including patrol, traffic, administration, the child abuse team as well as several years in the Detective Division as a financial crimes investigator.  Her presentation will include how to identify common scams and fraud in order to protect ourselves from phone, mail and cyber crime. She will provide practical tips to increase our financial and technological safety as prevention is the key to avoiding becoming a victim of fraud.
