Free Store Rutledge Park – Saturday, June 20

We are hosting a Free Store on Saturday, June 20th from 10am to 1pm benefiting neighbours and Women in Need (WIN).

Declutter and donate in demand household items.  Come out and shop for what you need.  No paying, trading, or bartering and no need to donate in order to shop.

Everything is free! It’s good old fashioned mutual aid, neighbours helping neighbours.

All remaining items at the end of the event will be donated to our partners at WIN, who help women in supportive housing set up homes.

Come meet your neighbours, chat and enjoy some snacks and refreshments! We encourage you to bring your own cup and help reduce waste.

We are seeking in demand donations on the day of the sale* of:

🏷️  New and gently used kitchen ware

🏷️  Small, clean working kitchen appliances like microwaves and toasters in advance only *

🏷️  New, sealed socks and undergarments

🏷️  Good condition hats, purses, shoes, jewelry

🏷️  Arts and craft supplies and station items

🏷️  Spring – Summer adult/kids clothes

🏷️  Books

🏷️  Toys

🏷️  Home decor and decorative items including small art pieces

🏷️  Antique, vintage and collectible items

We cannot accept:

🚫 Furniture and large rugs

🚫 Car seats, helmets, strollers and plastic child safety equipment that expires

🚫 Medical and health supplies

🚫 TV equipment older than 5 years

🚫 Day-of electronics donations – we need to test these in advance

🚫 Luggage

🚫 School binders

🚫 Out of season clothing

Remember, you are giving to your neighbours and helping your community. Only give items in a condition you would willing accept from someone else.

Want to Volunteer at the Free Store? We need event volunteers to help with loading and unloading, screening day-of donations, welcoming shoppers and donors, and answering questions about QCHCA, and keeping the Free Store organized.
